Who We Are

Straight answers about who runs EV Freedom, who receives your payment, and what happens to prepaid balances.

Effective August 9, 2026

1. Why this page exists

If you are about to pay for a membership, you deserve to know who is behind it. Rather than make you dig, we state our current status openly on this page and keep it updated as things change.

2. Who operates EV Freedom

  • Trade name: EV Freedom (evfreedom.energy)
  • Owner / founder: John, founder and owner of the business
  • Base of operations: Los Angeles, California, United States
  • Contact: legal@evfreedom.energy

Ownership questions, verification requests, and legal notices go to legal@evfreedom.energy and we answer them.

3. Current legal status — stated plainly

EV Freedom is an owner-operated business, and formation of a registered legal entity is in progress. Until that registration is complete and published here, the owner named above is personally responsible for the obligations of the business. We are not going to describe ourselves as an "Inc." or "LLC" before the paperwork actually exists.

When the entity is formed we will update this page with the exact registered name, the state of registration, and the formation date, and we will update the entity reference in our Terms of Service at the same time.

4. Who receives your money

We do not handle raw card data. All payments are processed by Stripe, a licensed payment processor, and your card is stored with Stripe rather than with us. On your bank or card statement the charge appears under the EV Freedom descriptor shown to you at checkout. If a statement descriptor ever looks unfamiliar, contact billing@evfreedom.energy before disputing and we will identify the charge for you.

5. What we do and do not own

EV Freedom activates charging sessions on third-party networks including EVgo, ChargePoint, Flo, Electrify America, and Tesla. We do not own or operate charging hardware. Station availability, pricing, and uptime are controlled by those operators. We say this here as clearly as we say it in our Terms so no one signs up with the wrong expectation.

6. What happens if EV Freedom winds down

If we ever stop offering the Service, we commit to the following:

  • At least 30 days' advance notice to every active member by email, sent to the address on your account.
  • Your prepaid balance stays usable during that notice period and through the end of any membership term you have already paid for, so you can spend what you have already deposited.
  • Recurring billing stops immediately when the notice goes out — you will not be charged for a renewal after that point.
  • Balances are settled as service credit, not cash. Wallet funds and credits are usable toward EV Freedom memberships, sessions, packages, and services; they are not redeemable for cash except where applicable law requires it. See our Refund Policy.

Wallet balances are a stored credit with EV Freedom. They are not a bank deposit, are not insured, and earn no interest.

7. How to limit your exposure

We would rather you be comfortable than over-committed. If you are new, start on a monthly plan or a one-time session instead of prepaying a large wallet balance, and scale up only once you have seen the Service work for your driving. Nothing on this site requires a large upfront deposit.

8. Keeping this page honest

We will update this page whenever our legal status, ownership, payment processor, or wind-down commitment changes, and we will move the "Effective" date above when we do. If anything here reads as unclear or out of date, tell us at legal@evfreedom.energy and we will correct it.

This page is maintained by EV Freedom to describe the policies that apply to our membership and website. It is not legal advice. Questions? Email legal@evfreedom.energy.
